Leaving a bequest in your will is one of the most common forms of planned giving. Bequests are also one of the easiest planned gifts to create. Leaving a bequest to Perry-Mansfield is as simple as adding the following language to your will: “I [Your Name], of [city, state, zip], give, devise, and bequeath to Friends of Perry-Mansfield, EIN 84-1158773 [written amount or percentage of the estate or description of the property/asset] for its unrestricted use and purpose.” The language above is a guide. Your financial advisor may have their own language for you to use.

IRA and Retirement Plan Assets

You can name Friends of Perry-Mansfield (EIN 84-1158773) as the designated beneficiary of a retirement plan such as your IRA, 401(k) or 403(b). This is an effective way to make a charitable gift since it will not be subject to either estate or income taxes.

 Life Insurance

Life insurance policies are frequently created to support your family in case of your untimely death. It may be to support a spouse or your child’s college fund. Often, however, the original purpose of an insurance policy becomes obsolete. A great way to renew its purpose is to make Friends of Perry-Mansfield the beneficiary! You can also start a new life insurance policy just for Friends of Perry-Mansfield. For just a few dollars a month, you can help ensure the long-term sustainability of Perry-Mansfield.

Charitable Remainder Trust

You can realize the tax advantages of making a gift now — especially of appreciated assets — while still receiving income from the assets through a Charitable Remainder Trust. After providing income to you during your lifetime, the remaining assets can be used to start or grow a Friends of Perry-Mansfield endowment.

Charitable Lead Trust

A Charitable Lead Trust distributes income to Friends of Perry-Mansfield for a period of years or during your lifetime. The assets then return to you or your surviving family members.  Lead Trusts can enable you to make a significant gift to us and transfer assets to family members while saving taxes.
