Family Reunification Plan

In the event that Perry-Mansfield must be evacuated due to a wildfire, other natural disaster, or any emergency requiring relocation, the safety and accountability of campers and staff is our highest priority.

Camp staff will transport campers to the emergency shelter or reunification location designated by Routt County emergency management and first responders. Camp personnel will maintain supervision of campers at all times and conduct regular head counts throughout the evacuation and relocation process.

Once campers have safely arrived at the designated shelter or reunification site, information regarding the location and reunification procedures will be posted on the camp website as soon as it is safe to do so. Updates will also be provided through the camp’s established communication methods when available.

Parents and guardians should not travel to the camp during an active evacuation unless directed by emergency officials. Doing so may interfere with emergency operations or place additional people at risk. Families should instead monitor the camp website for official reunification information and follow instructions provided by camp staff and emergency management.

Campers will only be released to a parent, legal guardian, or an individual authorized on the camper’s emergency contact form. Identification will be required before a camper is released. Camp staff will document each reunification to ensure every camper is accounted for.

If communication systems are disrupted, camp staff will continue coordinating with Routt County emergency responders to establish reunification as quickly as conditions allow. Camp leadership will provide updated information through available communication channels once service has been restored.

This reunification plan is reviewed annually and practiced by camp staff to help ensure an organized, safe, and efficient reunification process during an emergency
