Perry-Mansfield depends on capital fundraising initiatives to provide funds for projects such as facility renovations and the construction of new buildings. Additionally, capital giving is the primary source of funding for our general and scholarship endowments. They also stand as philanthropic landmarks for all donors, inspiring others to give generously.
What are Capital Gifts?
Capital gifts are outright gifts (as opposed to deferred or "planned" gifts, which are often made through a charitable trust, a gift annuity, or a donor's will). Donors may pay them over a period of time, generally up to five years. Depending on the donor's intent, they can be spent in their entirety or they can be endowed funds that continue to support Perry-Mansfield over time.
Capital gifts can be unrestricted; or they can be earmarked for specific needs that are of interest to the donor, such as student scholarships or building construction. They may be gifts of cash, stock, real estate, or other property.

What is an Endowment?
An endowment is a permanent fund that is invested such that a portion of the annual income produced is used for operations or other specified purposes. It is created for the permanent upkeep and benefit of an institution or organization. *
Perry-Mansfield currently has two Endowment Funds:
General Endowment: provides funding for larger expenses such as facility renovations as well as a supplement to general operating costs.
Scholarship Endowment: provides tuition support for High School and College students in the areas of dance, theatre, musical theatre, and the New Noises Studio Dramatic Writing Program.
