Mary Elizabeth Poore has performed throughout the United States in operetta, opera, and musical theater singing leading roles in Pirates of Penzance, Die Fledermaus, Scrooge the Musical, Turn of the Screw, The Crucible, La Traviata, and Rigoletto among others. She created the title role in the world premiere of Libby Larsen's Mrs. Dalloway for the Lyric Opera of Cleveland and performedin the world premiere of John Kelly's Light Shall Lift Them at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York City and on tour.  She has recorded for labels including Capstone Records, Living Artist Recordings and Newport Classic Records. In addition to her busy performing schedule, Mary Elizabeth, a devoted music educator, maintains a private voice studio in Manhattan, and is on the faculty of the Music Conservatory of Westchester where she teaches voice and single-handedly directs the yearly Musical Theater Summer Intensive as well as teaching summer musical theater classes. She is also on the faculty of the Bel Canto Institute in Florence, Italy.Mary Elizabeth received her Bachelor and Master of Music Degrees from Indiana University. She is thrilled to return to teach again at Perry-Mansfield with all its magic and madness! It's been too long!
