David Baecker is the Program Director for Theatre and Musical Theatre at Russell Sage Collegein Troy, New York. He has spent 12 summers on faculty at P-M where he directed The Laramie Project, Picasso at the Lapin Agile, Mad Forest, Nickel and Dimed, and others. He has directed professionally with the New York State Theatre Institute (A Christmas Carol), Saratoga Shakespeare Company (Shipwrecked!), Santa Fe Theatre Festival (Danny and the Deep Blue Sea), the New York Fringe Festival (Mr. Sensitivity), and the Brooklyn Historical Society (The Bridge). At Sage, David has directed dozens of productions, several of which (Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, In the Next Room) have been on numerous Capital Region year-end "Best of" lists. David is a member of the Actors Equity Association and has performed with Saratoga Shakespeare Festival, the New York State Theatre Institute, the Asolo Repertory Theatre, and Actors' Theatre of Louisville. David has a BA in Theatre from Washington University in St. Louis and an MFA in Acting from Florida State University.
